Resident Reviews
|Recommended: No1 star — The office bothers its residents too much about unnecessary stuff. Ex My rent is due the 1st, and the office already sending out first late notices on the morning of the 1st.
|Recommended: YesNew lease — it´s a very good place to live, the rooms are great and has good spaces. the main spot for the residences it´s dark past 5 pm so thats not very welcoming
|Recommended: YesGreat place to live — Wonderful place to stay in, great people and good amenities.
|Recommended: YesTrash policy — I'm really enjoying my time here it's wonderfully peaceful and well-kept. The staff has been exceptional, and having a shuttle to school is a huge convenience. The only issue I've encountered relates to the trash collection system. In my opinion, there's room for improvement in the trash policy, particularly for 4x4 apartments. The current limit of two trash items per entire apartment, coupled with restrictions on the number of collection days, seems a bit inequitable. This is especially true since residents have varied schedules and trash isn't picked up on a daily basis.
|Recommended: YesGreat place but could work on maintenance times. — Great place but could work on maintenance times.
|Recommended: YesDecent Place to Live — This is a decent place to live for college students.
|Recommended: YesGood — Good
|Recommended: NoTo Living Here — Packages are frequently misdelivered or stolen- closing the mail room has aggravated this problem to extreme levels. Water is incredibly hard to the point that the in-unit washer and the dishwasher leave both clothes and dinnerware in disgusting condition, and boiling anything is impossible. The office is unorganized, giving contradictory instructions and making demands of residents beyond what they have the power to do in the lease agreement and under law. Maintenance staff falsifies reports, marking some reports complete instantly, or just never coming into the unit and marking it complete anyway- no repairs requested have been completed since I've been here. The amenities are in disrepair- the majority of the gym's limited equipment has been out of order for months, and contrary to the lease agreement, the management office has been restricting the use of many amenities for the malfeasance of a few actors, and yet takes the money all the same. The last point is a continuing trend, up to the point where it is not uncommon for people to sign leases and find that the unit they were promised is not available, and are forced to live in whatever unit the management office wants to put them in, without regard for their needs, preferences, or the nature of the other tenants. They are the worst kind of slum lord, preying on students and immigrant families.
response from property -Thank you for your review. I would love to address all of your concerns. Packages would be a complaint for the delivery personnel as we have zero control over where they are leaving packages, unfortunately. The package room has always been open, and never has it been closed down. The water is the same anywhere in South Bend, I agree, South Bend water has always been hard, again, not something University Edge can control. Please request an appointment to speak with Jackie the Property Manager regarding any office/maintenance complaints to ensure all of your issues are heard, communicated, and addressed. When you lease early enough, you do have the advantage to pick your location on the property, absolutely. Late arrivals, unfortunately, we have to work with what we have remaining. This is common in any community housing a large number of students. Again, I would love to speak with you in person if you have time. Thank you!
|Recommended: YesI recommend this complex — I just moved in and everything is like the sample pictures.
|Recommended: YesAwesome — Awesome
|Recommended: YesLiving Review — Lots of trash on the ground and around the dumpsters. Noisy neighbors and stompers, Dishwasher, Dryer and Washer are very very loud. Always parking spots open so that is good. Certain small things that decrease the construction quality, small things that previous owners must have disregarded. Other than that, this is a nice place to live.
|Recommended: YesGood place to live for new ND students — The hourly shuttle to and from ND is very helpful, especially if you're a new student and don't drive. The apartments are well kept, and the Edge staff is very friendly and helpful. The walk-in closets are quite spacious. But for the overall size of the apartment, the rent is on the higher end, compared to South Bend rates. Weighing pros and cons, would recommend for incoming students.
|Recommended: YesUniversity Edge — Pretty good, just some occasional maintenance issues
|Recommended: YesSolid, but not extraordinary — While the building is very nice with great square feet and great appliances, the seem to be poorly maintained. The Stove steams smokes everytime we use it and the dishwasher had water in it over the summer.
|Recommended: YesGreat Apartment — This is a great Apartment despite the rent cost. I particularly would wanted a more proactive response to requests. It took some time for cleaning services to be done which was kinda stressful and exhausting.
But overall. University Edge is cool Would recommend it
